HISTORY
The Richard Pancho Gonzalez Youth Foundation was founded by the Gonzalez Family and began operating in 2013. Previously, the family participated in various diversity activities including the production of the Spike TV documentary special “Pancho Gonzalez: Warrior of the Court” and the publication of the book “Tennis Legend Pancho Gonzalez.” Additionally, family members have participated in various United States Tennis Association (USTA) events and committees.
One of the primary goals is to share Pancho’s story of passion, perseverance, and accomplishment with the youth of today. Pancho overcame difficult childhood circumstances and adversity to become the best tennis player in the world for a period spanning almost ten years. His story is an inspiration for today’s youth to live a fulfilling life by pursuing their goals and dreams. The Foundation serves as a continuation of those efforts.
MISSION
The foundation’s mission is to inspire and enhance the lives of today’s youth through physical fitness, academic pursuit and character building through the sport of tennis.
